Ladybird's View

Inside my studio

Ladybirds have always found their way into my home and studio. They arrive in numbers, tuck themselves into the corners of the upstairs rooms for a time, and eventually move on again. Yet there always seem to be a few who stay behind, wandering the windows and walls as I work. So it seemed only fitting to name this little view into my creative world after them.

Welcome to Ladybird's View, where you can look a little closer at my art, experiments, works in progress, materials, imperfections, and creative stories that begin here in my studio.

Come in and see what the ladybirds see.

Pieces of Something Bigger
Original Studio Stamp Art

Tiny original collectible works of art created from the painted palettes, color studies, test papers, and creative experiments that grow alongside my work in the studio.

Each little stamp holds its own combination of real paint, ink, texture, splatter, shimmer, brush marks, and sometimes tiny hand-painted details. No two will ever be exactly alike.

Created together. Each one special. Each one original.

Made by Hand
Made by Hand. Sent by Mail.

These mailings are created to travel as real mail, and sometimes the journey leaves a mark.

Once an envelope leaves my hands, think of how many others may touch it before it reaches yours. It is collected, sorted, carried, loaded, unloaded, sorted again, passed from hand to hand, and eventually placed into your mailbox.

Rain happens. Envelopes get bumped. Postal machines leave their marks. Corners soften. Paper gets pressed. A crease, scuff, wrinkle, or little mark may appear along the way. I don't consider those little things flaws. They become part of its story.

No two mailings begin exactly alike, and no two travel exactly the same road. Each was made here in my studio, packed by my hands, carried through the hands of strangers, and traveled its own journey before finally reaching yours.

Perfect isn't the point. Art is. And the journey becomes part of it.
