DreamCatching Art - AmyLyn Bihrle
About the Artist:
AmyLyn Bihrle is a multidisciplinary New York artist whose work bridges fine art tradition with imaginative storytelling. Her portfolio spans equine portraiture, ceremonial mixed media heirlooms, whimsical character worlds, wildlife studies, and entire mythologies built from scratch. Every piece reflects the hands on and unplugged craft she learned long before algorithms and apps existed, sketchbook in one hand and a camera in the other, paint on every stitch of clothing, outdoors surrounded by her muses, and that foundation still roots her creative practice today.
Best known for her unbridled horses with sweeping and exaggerated manes and tails, AmyLyn’s work is shaped by the spirit of the horse and the quiet soul deep way they move through a life. Her collections, from the DreamWalker Horses and Majestic Mustangs to Wildlife and Winter Wonders, Tiny Adventures, and her many lore driven realms, may vary in tone and technique, yet they all carry the same heartbeat. Intuition, narrative, and a sense of awe guide everything she creates.
Her versatility is the architecture of her world. Each collection opens a doorway into a different facet of her imagination, expanding the universe she is building one brushstroke, one story fragment, one character at a time. No matter where you enter, through a ceremonial heirloom, a wild eyed stallion, a handcrafted sculpture, or a mysterious and whimsical character on the page, you will always know you are in her world.
A Note from the Artist:
Hello to you all, including my fellow WildFlowers.
Thank you for supporting this journey and exploring all the sides of my creative world with me. The font being used is my small attempt at keeping cursive alive in this ever changing world. Even if it is a script font, the heart of it is handwritten.
Since I live in the foothills of the Adirondacks in upstate New York, I am surrounded by blooms and butterflies and not the business of buildings and buses. I cherish living where the night skies spill with falling stars and fireflies drift like tiny lanterns. Wildlife wanders through my yard, and wildflowers bloom around me in every direction. My cats keep me company through it all, watching the seasons change, following the movement of birds, and settling beside me as I work. It is a landscape that feeds my imagination every day.
I am always trying to keep up with the endless creative ideas that swirl through my head. I am forever experimenting, learning, and trying new things. I call myself a collector of everythings, because curiosity seems to follow me everywhere I go. I still want to try colored pencils and pastels and a full list of other mediums that tempt me. I tinker with learning other languages, I play the piano whenever I can, and I recently added the wild notion that I will learn the guitar of all things. Life feels richer when I keep exploring.
My art moves in many directions because each path expresses a different part of my story and imagination. Some days I am drawn to the spirit and presence of a horse in a legacy piece. Other days I reach into childhood memories for whimsy, folklore, wildlife, or the small magical corners of the world that continue to inspire me.
All these styles live together in my mind and my heart and in my studio, shaping one larger world and allowing me to tell different stories through different voices. Whether I am painting a wild mustang, an heirloom piece, a wildlife scene, or a rabbit greeting a firefly, the intention is always the same. I want to create something that connects or comforts or sparks a sense of wonder.
I am grateful you are here.
AmyLyn Bihrle
" Whether I am painting the spirit of a horse or the gentle flicker of a firefly, I try to capture what it leaves on the human heart—fleeting like a falling star, lasting as a cherished memory.”
