Stories From

The Wild Meadow

To most, it is only a meadow of tall grass and wildflowers. But to those who pause long enough to listen, another world quietly reveals itself.

Stories have a way of finding their way out of the Wild Meadow. Some arrive as quiet moments beneath the tall grass, others drift in on the wings of birds or the hum of bees moving through the wildflowers. These pages are small glimpses into the hidden world of the meadow and the curious folk who call it home. Each story is a tiny adventure, and together they slowly weave the larger tale of the Wild Meadow.

Introduction to the Wild Side

Along the winding paths hidden in the tall grass and stretching to the tree lines of the Wild Meadow, and in the quiet places above and below the ground, the meadow folk are always busy long before the sun rises. A field mouse pauses beside the clover to tuck away a fallen petal, a rabbit gathers curious little finds hidden in the tall grass, while bees hum through the wildflowers and butterflies drift from bloom to bloom. Birds flutter along the fence lines collecting the long strands of horsehair the grazing horses have shed, and near the pond a quiet frog or salamander watches the morning unfold. Petals, seeds, sketches, stories, and curious little treasures slowly make their way toward the old oak, where a certain tiny hamster with very important postal duties inspects each bundle before it is sent along. Little by little the meadow offers up its quiet gifts, stories carried on the wind, letters written by lantern light, and tiny treasures gathered along the meadow paths. If you love stories from the meadow, you may love the Art Mail Club, where the meadow’s magic arrives by mail. Inside are art, letters, stories, and tiny treasures gathered along the meadow paths, sent from the hidden world of the meadow to your mailbox in the human world. And this is only the beginning. The Wild Meadow is filled with furred, feathered, winged, and scaled folk, each with a lifetime of stories and folklore to tell and to share. These are the beginnings of many Tiny Adventures and Wildlife Wonders, and there is room for everyone here. Many more tales are still waiting to be discovered, and I cannot wait for you to meet them all.

Wild Flowers

Welcome

Take your time wandering through these mini stories. They are meant to be read slowly, in no particular order, allowing your imagination to wander alongside them and perhaps even finish parts of the story in its own way.

If a tale grows, changes, or something new appears from the meadow, it will be marked “New from the Meadow” or “Updated from the Meadow.” So take your time, follow whichever path catches your curiosity, and don’t forget to leave a little room for daydreaming along the way.

Thank you for visiting the meadow and we can't wait to see you again!
