Hundreds of Horses art Project

An Artist’s Personal Journey Through Art, Horses & Slowing Down to Appreciate the Moment

DreamCatching Art Studio

AmyLyn Bihrle

May 2026 -

This personal journey is about creating a collection of hand painted horses while exploring different styles, media, techniques, and creative approaches for each piece. After painting hundreds of horses through personal commissions over the years, this project is a step away from deadlines, expectations, and creating for others, allowing the work to flow naturally and, most importantly, giving space to paint the horses that have touched my life and continue to inspire it.

My heart is still broken from the recent loss of a beloved family pet after sixteen wonderful years, and this project has waited on the back burner for a few years. I decided it was finally time to bring it to life. I hope it becomes a journey of change, slowing down, growing... and maybe a little healing too. A collection rooted in and inspired by my love for the horses I paint and horses everywhere.

Collector Information:

The Hundreds of Horses Art Project will be an evolving collection of original hand painted horses created through experimentation, artistic freedom, and slowing down, allowing the work to happen when inspiration feels right and taking time to appreciate the moment. I want to capture the spirit through my own hands and wet pigments from the earth, freezing that moment in time.

As the collection grows:

• Some original paintings will be available as direct purchases through the gallery.

• Select works may be offered through Facebook auctions announced throughout the project.

• Original works will be hand signed by the artist.

• Certificates of Authenticity may accompany select originals and collector pieces.

• Very limited edition prints may be offered for a small selection of works.

• Individual gallery entries may include artist statements, work in progress images, materials used, and creative notes.

• Availability may include Available, Auction Pending, Reserved, Private Collection, or Sold.

• Sold works will remain visible within the gallery archive as part of the continuing collection.

You are invited to follow this journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Updated May 2026

Will the original artwork be available for purchase?
Yes. Most pieces created for Hundreds of Horses will be available either for direct purchase or auction.

Will there be prints?
Possibly.

Hundreds of Horses is first and foremost a collection of original artwork. I may occasionally offer very limited edition prints for select pieces, though many horses may remain available only as originals.

I may also offer a very limited edition mini collection set featuring small versions of all 100 horses together once the collection is complete. That idea is still being explored and may evolve as the journey unfolds.

Where will auctions take place?
Until I work through logistics and discover what works best for the project, auctions will be posted on my Facebook art page:

Facebook Art Page:
www.facebook.com/AmyLynBihrle

How do I bid on Facebook auctions?
When an auction is posted, bidding instructions will be included in the post. Most auctions will simply require placing your bid in the comments section. Auction start times, ending times, shipping details, and any special rules will be listed with each individual piece.

How do I pay for a winning Facebook auction bid?
If you win an auction, I will contact you after the auction closes. Payment can be completed through an invoice sent from my website, which accepts most major payment options, or through PayPal if preferred.

Payment details, time limits, shipping information, and any special instructions will be included with each auction post.

Can I purchase artwork directly from this website?
Yes. When available, pieces may also be offered as Buy It Now directly here on the Hundreds of Horses page.

How can I stay updated?
You can sign up for project updates, newsletters, and new artwork announcements here on the website.

Will all of the horses be the same size and medium?
No. Different sizes, surfaces, styles, and mediums will be explored throughout the project. Some may be small studies, ACEOs, sketches, experiments, or larger finished works.

Will the artwork include a Certificate of Authenticity (COA)?
Yes. Original artwork from Hundreds of Horses will include a Certificate of Authenticity as part of the collection archive and documentation of the project journey.

Will there be a gallery archive?
Yes. A gallery section will be created here on the website showing details for each horse, including

– Title
– Date Created
– Size
– Medium Used
– Availability Status
– Story or Artist Notes when applicable
– COA Information
– Collection Number (Horse #001 through Horse #100)

Is there a schedule for the project?
No. There is no deadline, timeline, or release schedule. One horse may appear in a day, another may take weeks. The project will unfold naturally.

How many pieces will there be?
Each collection within Hundreds of Horses will consist of 100 pieces, with each horse receiving its own place in the archive and project history. This may be the only collection. Or it may become the first of many.

We shall see where the journey leads. For now, there are 100 spaces waiting to be filled.

Are commissions open?
Not at this time. I am focusing my creative energy on Hundreds of Horses and am not accepting commissions right now.

Will commissions return in the future?
Possibly. If and when commissions reopen, I will make an announcement.

Can I join a commission waiting list?
Yes. If you would like to be notified if commissions return, there will be a commission waiting list available to join.

Anything else I should visit while I’m here?
One of my favorite places on the website is Dear Wildflowers, a quiet little corner filled with letters, gentle moments, and meadow inspiration.

What is Hundreds of Horses really about?
This project is a personal journey through art, horses, and slowing down to appreciate the moment.

After more than twenty years painting commissioned horses, this collection is a return to painting without deadlines, expectations, or rules beyond these few simple things:

It must be handmade.

It must be a horse.

And I must enjoy the ride (the process).

Dedication

For the Wild, The Gentle & The Remembered.

This collection was born from a broken heart.

From love. From loss. From memories that will forever linger.

I dedicate this journey to all the animals who have touched my life.

To those from years gone by who now live in memory.

To those who still walk beside me today.

You taught me that unconditional love can arrive in many forms.

Love that asks for nothing and gives everything.

And to those I have not yet met but someday will.

To all the things that found their way into my work and helped form the way I see the world.

To sunrises that promise another beginning.

To sunsets that remind us to pause.

I do not want to take any of it for granted.

Every ordinary moment that became extraordinary.

You inspired my art in one way or another.

For all of it, my deepest and most heartfelt gratitude.

This journey is for you.
